Using SheepShaver

Changing the display mode

SheepShaver can display the MacOS user interface in an window (not yet full-screen). You can select the display mode under MacOS in the "Monitors" control panel. The options you get depend on a setting in the SheepShaver_prefs file

Accessing Windows files

SheepShaver will display a "My Computer"  icon on the Mac desktop that allows you to access any Windows files which are on the disks you specified in the SheepShaver_prefs file. You can open and save files on the "My computer" disks from Mac applications, copy, move or rename files from the Finder etc. SheepShaver translates some file name extensions to MacOS types and vice versa, so e.g. *.jpg and *.pdf files will show the correct icons in the Finder. MacOS resources and Finder attributes are stored in hidden .rsrc and .finf directories.

Copying text via the clipboard

SheepShaver tries to keep the Windows and MacOS clipboards synchronized. That means, when you copy a piece of text under Windows, you can paste it into a MacOS application and vice versa.
