
July 9th 2001: Fanfare Orchestra Eensgezindheid wins the WMC with St. Lambertus !!!!
In the early hours of monday july 9th 2001 the Royal Fanfare orchestra Eensgezindheid from Maasbracht has ,in the highest category for fanfare orchestras, won the first prize. It did this together with a total of three choirs who have participated in the final piece "Walpurgisnacht" from Alexander Comitas. The Royal Mens Choir St. Lambertus Kerkrade was asked to participate in this work because of the high standards it sets for itself.
With a total of about 120 male and female voices the final piece of the evening became also the masterpiece of the fanfare and the participating choirs. The audience were very enthusiastic as well as were the jury who awarded the fanfare with the first prize in the highest category. In fact the Fanfare Eensgezindheid of Maasbracht has won the World Championship with this performance !!!

November 18th 2000: Galaconcert with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Bocholtz was a great success !
After the successfull
performance of St. Lambertus in Verdi's opera Aïda, the choir was
ready for a new challenge. The choir performed together with the Royal
Philharmonic Orchestra of Bocholtz in a magnificent Galaconcert. During
the well visited concert famous opera and musical pieces were performed
for an enthusiastic audience. After this concert the choir can prepare
itself for the coming Christmas season.
June 2nd 2000: Royal Mens Choir St Lambertus will perform in Verdi's Aïda
On june 2nd the new
chairman of the choir, Mr. Ricardo Offermans, announced that the choir
had been asked to perform in a grand opera production. The famous Maastricht
conductor Mr. Eddy Rasquin had asked St. Lambertus to participate in Verdi's
Aïda which will have its premier in september 2000. Although it will
be a tough task to accomplish, conductor Jan Mertens and the members of
the choir responded with enthusiasm to the proposal of Mr. Eddy Rasquin.
The choir will perform in Aïda together with the Opera Company from
Liége. The production is staged in the Maastricht conference centre,
the Mecc. More information will follow.
november 7th 1999: St Lambertus wins the "Euregional Festival of Mens Choirs"
On november 6th and 7th of 1999 the Limburg regional section of the Royal Dutch Male Singers Association organized the "Euregional Festival of Mens Choirs" which was held in the Maastricht School of Music . In the concertcategory A there were 7 choirs competing for the first prize. In this category the Royal Mens Choir St. Lambertus Kerkrade sang at its best.
During the break before the scores were published, there were already some rumours to be heard... St. Lambertus could be a good bet for first place.
The rumours proved to be true !
The Royal Mens Choir St. Lambertus Kerkrade had won the first prize in the concertcategory A !
Friend and foe spoke highly about the performance of St. Lambertus Kerkrade.
Everybody agreed that
the Royal Mens Choir St. Lambertus Kerkrade did indeed deserve the victory
!
