1. Suppose you use your personal best times at 3000 and half marathon, for instance:

3000 m in 12.00 minutes
half marathon (21098 m) in  1;35.00.

Would you be able to run 5000 meter within 21 minutes? And would 42 minutes be a sensible goal at 10000 m?
Using the calculator you will find your prognosis at 5000 m to be 20;39.50. Your 10,000 m time will be 43;06.20.
At 1,500 m, you will run 5;43.91. However, note that the latter time may be inaccurate, because it is the result of an extrapolation.

.2.Kenenisa Bekele

Would he be able to beat Daniel Komen's  3000 m world record (07;21.45 )?
Use Kenenisa's outstanding worldrecords:

5000 m:   12;37.35

10000 m:   26;20.31

And you'll find his 3000 m record would be 7;19.90. It seems to be worth trying.

His 1500 m also is pretty fast  (3;30), yet a world record seems to be impossible here. Although his marathon time looks very promising (2;00;43), I suppose this prediction is highly unreliable because of the extrapolation. We'll see in the future.
